Grandpa Darrell

July 24, 2008 The Olsen side of the family decided to go wish Grandpa and Great-Grandpa Darrell a happy 85th birthday. We started our day at Artic Circle in Roy which was NOT easy to find but we made it, after the kids played long enough we left to go to Olive Garden to have dessert with Grandpa Darrell and Micki. Dessert was very interesting. 16 of us sitting and talking enjoying ourselves and trying to keep the boys entertained. It was very nice to see Grandpa in good spirits. We all know how Grandpa and my Dad get when there is a lot of noise and commotion going on -they get really uncomfortable. Sorry they had to put up with us but it was way worth it to see most of the family there together. Wyatt and his family couldn't make it because they were sick. Josh and Bevan were at work. After dessert we then traveled to the cemetary and visited the Paul side of the family resting sites, Grandma Ellen and Grandpa Bob as well as the others in the family that have been laid to rest. Then we did a drive by of Grandma Beas home were she grew up and then onward to Grandma Gealtas home were she grew up. We then went on to where my Grandma Bea was laid to rest at and took some time to take pictures of the kids and visit before we parted in our seperate ways. I decided to take my kids to see my Dads home were he grew up and where I had spent many summers. It has changed alot as most things do. It was way good to go down memory lane with my Mom and Dad and see all the things we haven't seen in a while. The long day was worth it we got to see the family and relatives that we do not get to see as much as we would like. This was a very good experience for the grandkids to see where their ancestors lived and were laid to rest. So glad that Abbey had the idea to go and do this as a family- Thanks Ab!!!!!
