A Wonderful Weekend

K so I am feeling really upset- this weekend the kids and I went out to Darcey's and Abbey's for the weekend and had a really great time it was good to be with them and their families. We started out Saturday morning at Kangaroo Zoo for my brother Wyatt's little girl Brooklyn's birthday. This place is great because the kids can run around and be crazy and jump on everything there- Well I forgot the camera and that is why I am so upset the whole weekend I kept saying to myself that I couldn't believe I forgot the camera. I love to capture the moments that when we are all together, it doesn't happen as much as I would like. But oh well I have it in my memory right??? Well then we went to Darcey's for cake and just hung out for a while. I wished I had my camera, the three older boys were outside playing and as I was watching them they were throwing the football to each other (even though they wouldn't catch it) they would take off after it where ever it would go and tackle the first one who got it. It was so cute and totally just the boys being boys. They are only three and it amazes me that they just know how to play. I loved it. That night My girls and I went to Alyssa's performance in It's a wonderful life. It was really good the whole show was so good. I was expecting it to be more theater like... like a play I guess and was so shocked to see that it was very well directed as a ballet. I am so very proud of the things Lyssie can do- Josh always says what a very talented girl she is and how smart she is. I couldn't agree more. It was a great way to end the day. Sunday was blessing day for baby Bram. He has changed so much since the last time I had seen him, but he still has those cute little cabbage patch cheeks. I can't get enough of them. So cute. The Blessing was great and so were the testimony's of those who bore them, they hit me so full of spirit that I felt as if I knew them. We then went to Ab's and had soup and scones, it was great and we had dessert, lots of dessert. The baby food carrot cake was awesome. We sat there with some of our old friends and talked and thought of the old days and had a great time. I just wished Josh could have been there. I always fell so bad when he cant come because of work I never feel whole when he is gone. All in all the kids had fun and I had a great time wished I could have done some more shopping even though I really don't need to, I still would have liked to have gone. Well if anyone gets me some pics I will post them. It was a great time.
I am very blessed that I have the family I have. Very very blessed, I just love the kids so much.
Earlier in the day on Sunday Abbey had asked me my thoughts on a enrichment night that they are going to have, they had asked her to say something on Christmas and she really didn't know what to say or what they were wanting her to say. On the way home I thought about this and I thought really hard. I love Christmas and the holiday spirit, and I have felt that it has slipped away from me a little. Then the song "Where are you Christmas" by Faith Hill came on and I was over whelmed with the spirit and knew that I had to find Christmas and bring it back to me. I realized then that Christmas isn't a seasonal thing - it is a year round thing to me. It is about Christ and he should be there in our homes and hearts year round. I know that I have been caught up in the material gifts trying to find just the right gift for someone, and then I have to ask myself- what is it that you want?, and the best Christmas gift I could ever receive is a warm smile and a meaningful hug. Now if I could get my kids to agree that would be great. A lot less stress. Anyways last night I went to my Parents home to get Harlee, she had been helping them out with some chores in the house and I get there and my Dad and Har have the tree up and decorating it. Yes I know crazy I asked if Mom knew about it, and she did. It is two weeks before Christmas, and Mom hasn't gotten the tree up until the night before Christmas the last few years so I was surprised. It made me smile. Har had done a good job and decorated the whole tree up to where she could reach and even behind where know one could see. My first thought I had was to go and re-arrange a lot of them, but I didn't....okay so just a few. I left most all of it the way she had it. I realized it shouldn't matter the way the decor is on the tree, the look on Hars face said it all, she loved it and she did it. On the way home the kids were crazy as usual and they were pointing out Christmas lights and laughing. I realized I had found Christmas. It hadn't slipped away or it hadn't gone anywhere it was me. I hadn't brought it to the center of my life. I hope that one day they do find Christmas they way I see it and believe in it. I need them to believe in Hope, Miracles and Love. I know that is all I need along with Faith and PATIENCE.
Well enough is enough right. I do wish you a very Merry Christmas- and filled with lots of Love.

Disney on Ice!

So we had a blast last night! We went to Disney on Ice at the Energy Solution Arena in Salt Lake. We went with some friends of ours Jesica and Chad's Fam and Ryan and Jessica's Fam were there too. We had bought our tickets a few months ago and I had kinda forgot that we were going until last week, but anyways Bubby sat threw the whole thing only stood up like twice! I know it was amazing he loved it. I still can't believe he sat there the whole 2 hours. I bought the kids a snow cone in a Disney cup and popcorn and they were set not one complaint the whole time we were there. I absolutely loved it. Well the camera was acting all weird and the pictures came out blurry, it kept on saying I was recording but it wasn't even set to record. So Jes said she would get me some pics to post. She was only 2 seats away from me same view same angle everything so no one would know if they weren't mine right? Well Harlee said she wouldn't mind going again so it must not be too childish for her. Oaklee was amazed at Snow white, she was all giggly. Kodee would look at the pics in the program and then watch for the moves that were in the photos, she would tell me if there was anything that they messed up or didn't do. Kohlton at the end of the show was yelling down to "Woody" and "Buzz" to wave at him just smiling from ear to ear but I noticed he wasn't yelling "Woody" he was yelling BUDDY, look at me Buddy. I was about to cry he was so cute. I only wish Josh had been able to be there with us.
I will post pics when I get them.

Utah State Fair 2008

We just got back today from the State fair. We had a great time and was worth the work. Harlee won the Grand Champion Showmanship Swine, in this event it is to judge her on her skills and how well she shows her animal. She did an awesome job and it paid off. Harlee has been working hard with her animals to receive this award, even though they did not award champions with the belt buckle she wanted she received a COOL watch. Harlee had also received 7th in class with her lamb in market class. Her original lamb she wanted to show did not have enough tail, so she had to go with her alternate. She did an incredible job and we are so proud of her. Heavenly Father has truly blessed us with a sweet and wonderful daughter.

First day of Pre-school

September 9, 2008 was Kohlton's First day of Pre-school. Bubby was so excited but bummed when he doesn't get to ride the bus to school. It was Mom and Me at school, so I got to go and hang out with him. I didn't realize how smart he was until we were on a scavenger hunt and had to count apples on the apple tree. I thought that he would only get to about five but then he kept on going until 12. I was amazed at this because he did just turn three. I haven't even worked with him on his numbers and he gets it. I just can't believe at how grown up he seems....too smart for his own good.

Oaklee first day of Kindergarten

Well today was Oaklee's Big Day!! She has been waiting for this day her whole life. Oaklee was so excited she was up at 7:00 and ready by 8:00. The bus doesnt come until 8:20 so it was a very long wait. She wanted to go to school by herself and said Kodee could take her to her classroom. Made me kinda of sad. Well I hope she will have a fun day. Bubby was very sad, I got it his reaction on video- he wanted to go with Oaklee! I think he just wanted to ride the bus.

Oaklee doesn't start kindergarten until September, Kohlton starts pre-school then too. So we will put the first day of school pics up then.

Bubby's real birthday

August 14, 2008
Okay so this is Kohltons real birthday and we decided to go to the Western Park and do the candy drop. A helicopter hovers over a blocked off parking lot and drops hundreds of pounds of candy. Each age groups get a turn on going and getting candy.
So we started of by the ampatheater with pizza and cupcakes and a few presents. Then we walked out front to where the candy drop was. The kids had such a great time trying to get as much candy as they could. I hope Bubby can Remember his birthday when he gets older he had a lot of fun.

Kohlton's Turns 3!

August 11, 2008
Okay so Kohlton's birthday isn't until Thursday the 14th, but Josh had to go back to work before then, so we celebrated his birthday a couple days early just our family so Josh could see the excitement. Kohlton (aka Bubby) was surprised. Josh had taken Bubby to Bull Ring to get a new pair of John Deere cowboy boots- they have camoflauge on them- and Bubby totally loves them. We came home and let him open his presents from us. He got a farm set that has trucks and trailers, animals and other farm equipment. He also got a big set of John Deere farm equipment. You put the 2 of them together and you have a complete farm. Barn, stables, sale barn, silo, fences, hay, wheel barrow, pitch fork.... you get the idea. Well he has not stopped playing with it since he opened it, even the girls love to play with him. It was great to sit there and watch the kids play and entertain themselves, actually quietly for a few hours.

Goat Show

August 9,2008 Duchesne County Fair Goat Show
Well when we got there Saturday morning Harlee decided she didn't want to show, so Josh asked Oaklee if she wanted to. To my surprise she said yes and got all excited. Harlee helped her so that she would know what to do. Kodee and Oaklee did a very good job and the goats were well behaved most of the time. Oaklee's goat that she showed took Grand Champion Reserve in Market and Reserve in Market Class. She was awarded 2 medals and blue ribbons with lots of money, well for a 5 year old. Kodee was also awarded Blue ribbons and money for showmanship and she third in her Market Class. Kodee wouldn't let me take her picture with her ribbons and money the little fart. She's not so much into the "spotlight" unless she is home alone.

Duchesne County Fair Stock Show 2008

Duchesne County Fair August 4-9 2008
Well we are having a great time here at the fair Harlee is finished with her Showmanship and market shows with her lamb. She took 3rd in Showmanship in the overall junior division and her friend Quincey Huber (next door nieghbor) took first. We couldn't be happier for all of the kids that had gone to the fair from Lapoint, we had a great success. In Market Harlee's lamb took 6th and Quincey's took 5th so overall this has been a great trip. We came home on thursday to get the goats ready for the show on saturday. Kodee is so excited and can not wait. We will see how they do. We will let you know what happens.

Getting ready for Duchesne County Fair Stock Show 2008

Well it's stock show time again, Duchesne is this next week August 4th. These kids have worked really hard with their animals. Harlee and Kodee are into showing livestock along with the neighbors. Daiten, Dekoven, Jamie, Janzen, Quincey, and Dawson. Harlee is not going to show a pig for this show, just a lamb. She has worked really hard on her showmanship. She wants another belt buckle. Kodee isn't old enough to show hog, sheep or steer so she is showing a goat. They both have really enjoyed being active in the 4-H program. In June of this year they both had the chance to compete in the Uintah Basin Junior Livestock Show and had fun. Harlee received 7th place for showmanship overall with her lamb. Kodee received 3rd place in market, with her goat in the jack pot. They really love being around the animals and down at the Huber farm. We are excited to see how they will do in Duchesne. We also have the Utah State fair coming up in September. I can not wait never been to the state fair before. Harlee and Quincey have some killer hogs for this, at least i think so....we will see how they do. We are grateful for the opportunity to live in an area where we can participate in these kind of activities. Very much blessed.
